Kēhau Kahananui

Kēhau Kahananui is an experienced and vivacious singer who is well-versed in blues, soul, and rock. She is skilled both as a lead and background singer. She had her first background gigs as a teenager and has been gigging ever since. Audiences enthusiastically receive her and are bound to get out of their seats and dance. Kēhau was immersed in the blues early on in her life and apprenticed with older musicians in South Los Angeles. Her mentor, the great Mickey Champion, was instrumental in guiding her to share the depths of soul through voice. She has worked with a variety of artists, including Linda Perry, BJ Cole, Daniel Ho, Ray Bailey, Wiretrain, and Andy Prieboy. She is available for club dates, parties, corporate events, and recording.

Additionally, Kēhau is an accomplished Hawaiian drummer, chanter, singer, and hula dancer. She has taught at workshops and performed in California, Hawai`i, Mexico, and England. Having learned her first hulas as a child from her aunties, she has continued her studies throughout the years. The Kumus she has learned under include Kumu Noelani MacIntosh and Kumu Keali`i Ceballos. She is available for performance and workshops, where the participants always have a great time.
